Testimony #24

Eddie is probably in his late twenties to early thirties.  He showed up for the Knowing Jesus gathering and seemed very happy to be with us.  When I asked the usual question, “Where have you seen the hand of God lately?”, Eddie was one of those with a report.

He told us that he was just transferred into this camp.  At the previous camp, he had been caught with two knives.  That usually results in severe disciplinary consequence such as a month or several in solitary confinement or transfer to a higher security camp with less privileges.  

Eddie had a history with gangs, but as he shared he told us he was breaking those connections and trying to follow Christ.  (I know.  Two knives and following Christ?)  Well, apparently God doesn’t wait for us to get all cleaned up before dragging us to Jesus.

Eddie shared how God had taken his bad predicament and had turned it into good.  He said he was so glad to be in this camp.  It was way better that the one he was transferred from.  Besides that, and Eddie couldn’t explain it, God had somehow gotten him into the Faith and Character dorm without his even asking.  

It seems God has not stopped going to great lengths to demonstrate His love and grace.
